Sailun Establishes Retread
Demonstration Centre
Sailun
Co., Ltd. created its experimental demonstration centre
for tyre recycling in 2007. The centre was established and
developed as a professional tyre recycling business, which
focussing on tyre retreading, retread materials manufacturing,
rubber powder production and application, R&D and the production
of a range of retreading equipment, providing clients with
a complete solution to tyre retreading issues, and also
assisting clients with professional services on tyre management
for their vehicle fleets.
At present, the Centre has
established a precured retread production line for truck
tyres and Sailun's Retread Demonstration Centre is a state
of the art showcase for its products passenger car tyres,
which has reached an advanced international level and is
capable of retreading 150,000 tyres per year. All levels
of inspection equipment are used before retreading, including
a nail hole inspection machine, loose spot laser checking
machine and a tyre pressure checking machine used to ensure
the quality of the retreaded tyres.
In
2008, the centre was recognised as the demonstration centre
for tyre retreading in Qingdao, even for the whole of China.
Additionally, the centre shouldered the responsibility for
several important technical and industrial projects issued
by the National Development and Reform Committee, known
as the Rubber and Tyre Cycling Utilization Project.
The centre possesses 38 items
of patented equipment. The centre is also participating
in or taking charge of national standards and industrial
standards for a total of 6 items, such as methods for dealing
with waste and worn tyres, setting up qualifications for
tyre retreading enterprises, and technical standards for
tyre retreading.
In
co-operation with MESNAC, Sailun has been researching and
designing an entire set of equipment used for tyre retreading
and inspection to meet the requirements of medium and high-end
clients both at home and abroad. The techniques used meet
international standards. The inhouse developed equipment
includes a pin hole inspecting machine, a holographic laser
inspection machine and a highpressure tyre inspection machine.
The centre utilises advanced precured retreading techniques
including double envelope curing and the use of precured
tread strips. Moreover, the centre strictly controls the
process in terms of tyre carcass examination standards with
a flow chart for retreading, with operation instructions
(process procedure) in every position, checking standards
for finished products, repair standards and so on. Inspected
by the China National Tire Quality Supervision and Inspection
Centre, all retreaded tyres from the centre are up to the
highest standard.
Technical Features:
The Centre says it offers advanced
precured tyre retreading techniques and reached an international
standard in the 1990s. The equipment used includes the latest
developments in retreading throughout its processes. The
equipment is specially designed for local users and provides
them with integral solutions.
The tread rubber produced by
the facility is available in a dualcompound formulation,
which is claimed to be superior to overseas products using
single formulations. The anti-abrasion performance can reach
beyond the level of new tyres with as much as 15 per cent
higher mileage. The heat dissipation capability is also
claimed to be superior to overseas products.
