KRAIBURG Austria Invests in the Future

KRAIBURG Austria has always stood for partnership-based cooperation on an equal footing. As a retreading specialist, the company is shaping the future not only for its customers, but also together with them, upholding the highest standards of service, performance, product quality, and reliability

 New Sales Manager

With this in mind, important milestones have been reached again in recent months, driving forward both sustainable transformation and technological development. “In addition to all these forward-looking activities, we are particularly pleased to be able to fill the position of Head of Sales with our long-standing colleague Daniel Weiß following an internal restructuring,” emphasises Stefan Mayrhofer, Managing Director of KRAIBURG Austria. “We are convinced that, in addition to his responsibility for our other business areas, he will continue to perform Holger Düx’s tasks with equal skill and foresight.”

Daniel Weiß Takes Over Responsibility as Head of Sales

Daniel Weiß has been head of sales at KRAIBURG Austria since May. Born in Salzburg, he brings extensive experience in recycling, the circular economy, and corporate development. After completing his master’s degree in European Business, he initially worked as a sales manager and division manager at a recycling company. In 2015, he relocated to Geretsberg to join KRAIBURG Austria, where he held various positions, including sales for special products and corporate development. With his strategic vision and market knowledge, the 41-year-old aims to further expand customer focus and sustainable solutions.

Investments in Efficiency and Safety

KRAIBURG Austria continuously invests in modern technology to improve both product quality and process efficiency. For example, a state-of-the-art plant – a new crossflow mixing extruder (QSM) – was recently commissioned. With its innovative technology, the new feeding strip extruder significantly contributes to more uniform material distribution, thereby enhancing even higher product quality. At the same time, the company has invested in a completely new chemical weighing system, which is now fully automated in a 1,500-square-metre hall built specifically for this purpose. Arranged on different levels, raw materials from tanks are weighed according to exact recipes and made available for further processing. This underpins the high-quality standards of the retreading specialist on the one hand and ensures greater occupational safety on the other.

Sustainability as a Strategic Success Factor

KRAIBURG Austria underscores its holistic approach to sustainability with a wide range of measures. At its Geretsberg site, 93% of electricity is already sourced from renewable sources, and a new large-scale photovoltaic system in the car park has recently been added to contribute to the company’s energy self-sufficiency. The CO₂ footprint per tonne produced has been reduced by 13 per cent since 2019, as has the amount of rubber waste. As part of the SBTi initiative (Science-Based Targets), the company has committed to reducing its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by almost 70% and its Scope 3 emissions by 20% by 2031. A proprietary CO2 calculator has been introduced, enabling KRAIBURG’s retreading partners’ customers to transparently track their contribution to emissions avoidance – including a customised certificate upon request. This provides users with clear proof that they, too, are actively contributing to CO2 reduction by using retreads and are an integral part of the sustainable value chain.

Market launch of ISCC PLUS-Certified Compounds

The delivery of ISCC PLUS-certified bio-circular rubber compounds in September marks a milestone in sustainability. They help conserve valuable resources and enable customers to choose more sustainable tyre solutions without compromising on quality and performance. The certification guarantees compliance with transparent and responsible supply chains, positioning KRAIBURG Austria as a pioneer in sustainable retreading in Europe.

“Our customers are our top priority – they rightly expect sustainable solutions, the highest quality and reliable service,” emphasises Daniel Weiß. “We are continuing to work hard on this, and I am delighted to now be able to help shape this path in a management role.”
