Bridgestone EMEA is moving forward with producing the new Bandag Hotread hot retread line to strengthen local capacity. The additional funds are being invested in new buffing, building machines, and curing presses. With these measures, Bulldog, a cold and hot retreader, should, in future, be able to produce the complete range of the 17 planned hot retread Bandag Hotread tyres, eight of which are already available on the British market.

Andrea Manenti, Bridgestone’s Vice President for the North Region, said this strategic move is about improving plant efficiency, securing jobs, and preparing for anticipated sales growth. Manenti projects a 20% workforce increase in response to rising retread demand.
