Grupo Soledad Makes Progress with Succession Plan

Grupo Soledad, a leading family business in the tyre and automotive services sector, has announced a key step in its succession plan, designed under its family protocol established in 2006. After an outstanding career leading the company, Juan Ramón Pérez Vázquez, current managing director, is handing over the role to Joaquín Pérez Martínez, who takes on leadership of the group after more than twenty years of training and experience across different strategic areas.

Joaquín Pérez Appointed Managing Director

Pérez Vázquez, who has overseen a period of growth, consolidation and innovation, will remain with the company as chief executive officer and co-owner. This will ensure continuity in the vision, values and strategy that have underpinned the company’s success.

“It has been an honour to lead this company and work alongside an exceptional team. Now it is time for Joaquín to take charge of the day-to-day running of the business, which I am certain he will do with the same passion and commitment that has always defined us,” said Pérez Vázquez.

Joaquín Pérez, a second-generation member of the family, has developed his professional career within Grupo Soledad, progressively assuming greater responsibilities and gaining a broad view of the business. His appointment as managing director is part of a carefully planned process to ensure stability, innovation and sustainable growth.

“I am delighted to take on this responsibility, and I am confident that, together with the team and my family, we will continue to drive Grupo Soledad towards new challenges, always remaining faithful to our values of innovation, commitment, proximity, sustainability and continuous improvement,” said Pérez Martínez.

Grupo Soledad, owned by the five Pérez Vázquez siblings, continues to emphasise responsible management and family business continuity. Its goal remains to strengthen its leadership in the sector and to act as a driver of employment and economic development in the communities where it operates.

Maintaining Company Values

In this new phase, Grupo Soledad remains committed to the values that have guided its trajectory. The company continues to prioritise teamwork, fostering collaboration, communication and trust across departments. Effort and self-improvement remain central, with a willingness to learn, adapt and embrace new challenges. Trust and simplicity are reflected in relationships based on respect and a friendly approach, while innovation is pursued through the continuous improvement of processes, products and services. Enthusiasm continues to be regarded as the driving force for involvement and progress.

The company also maintains a strong customer focus, placing clients at the centre of decision-making, and a firm commitment to the environment, promoting recycling, reuse and reduced impact across all its activities.

About Joaquín Pérez Martínez

With over 20 years of experience at Grupo Soledad, Pérez Martínez has played a pivotal role in developing and consolidating strategic areas of the company. He created the Marketing department and defined the commercial strategy for tyre retailing and distribution, strengthening customer loyalty through the Confortauto network of garages, as well as the Blacktire, Ecological Drive, Fixcar and Neumago brands, which together represent nearly 2,000 sales outlets.

His responsibilities have included coordinating pricing policy, developing e-commerce in both B2B and B2C markets across Europe, and modernising, diversifying and digitising sales points. He has also led the company’s international expansion through online platforms in Europe and with new ventures in Morocco, establishing a leading tyre distribution company there.

From 2019 to 2025, Pérez Martínez managed the Industrial Division, comprising several businesses, including MCE, dedicated to rubber manufacturing, Caucho Industrial Verdú, focused on the production of technical parts for infrastructure, Industrias del Neumático, specialising in tyre retreading and recycling, and Tallans Navarro, which manufactures and maintains recycling machinery.

Most recently, he incorporated the Valencian company Aceros y Servicios into the group, consolidating Grupo Soledad’s presence in the specialised steel market and as a supplier of high-added-value components.

His main challenge over the years has been to consolidate and sustainably grow the company’s presence and product portfolio in multiple markets.
