KRAIBURG Austria Welcomes Retreading Partners to Saalfelden

From June 27 to 29, 2025, retreading specialist KRAIBURG Austria brought together around 60 customers and partners from Austria and abroad for a summit meeting in Saalfelden.

Shaping the Future of Retreading

Under the motto “Shaping the future – stronger together”, the event at the ÖAMTC site (driving safety centre of the Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle and Touring Club) offered a unique mix of professional exchange, innovative experiences and personal encounters.

Six exciting specialist presentations were the focus of the conference day on Saturday. Various experts from KRAIBURG Austria, CO2OPT, SCANIA and BIPAVER spoke on key topics in the industry, ranging from regulatory developments and digital tyre strategies to e-mobility and the presentation of the next product generation. “Even in economically challenging times, retreading offers concrete opportunities,” emphasised Stefan Mayrhofer, Managing Director of KRAIBURG Austria. “This potential can be tapped in a targeted manner through a clear focus, strategically sound investment decisions and a consistent commitment to quality and premium products. This requires strong partners and a reliable network. We are grateful that we are able to experience precisely this as a key factor for success, in our everyday work and in the organisation of the summit.”

Live Demonstration as a Technical Highlight

A special highlight was the practical live demonstration at the ÖAMTC site: Christoph Priewasser presented two new tread designs currently in development, the K 736 (for drive axles) and the K 810 (for trailers). Together with its long-standing partner company DICKER TRANSPORTE, the profiles were tested under realistic conditions: on dry, wet and winter-like slippery roads. Both products impressed with their individual performance – on the one hand with traction, on the other with braking behaviour and driving stability. Participants were able to experience the performance of the new profiles first-hand by getting behind the wheel themselves. The programme was rounded off with a ride in the SCANIA E-TRUCK – another step towards a CO₂-neutral future for freight transport and a clear signal for sustainable mobility.

Farewell and new beginning: Roland Schutte and Daniel Weiß

As always, the technical programme was warm and humorous. This weekend also featured a particularly emotional moment: Roland Schutte, long-standing employee and Head of Technical Services at KRAIBURG Austria, made his last active appearance as a guest before entering well-deserved retirement. At the same time, the focus was on the future: Daniel Weiß, the new KRAIBURG Sales Manager, took the opportunity to exchange professional and personal ideas with the guests. The Salzburg native has been part of the Austrian family-owned company for ten years, bringing extensive experience in sales and corporate development to the table. With this summit meeting, KRAIBURG Austria once again underlined its role as an innovation driver, a quality supplier, and a reliable partner in the retreading industry. The event not only provided insights into current developments but also strengthened personal networks – an essential foundation for a successful future together.
