Retreading Quota Included in Chilean ERP Law

Chilean-Retreading

The Chilean retreading industry has announced a significant success achieved at the end of October with the news of the publication of the first Tyre Retreading Goal for the Chilean Market in the context of the Tyre Regulation Document that organises the management of End-of-Life Tyres in the first Chilean ERP Law.

ARNEC Achieves Quota for Retreads

After tireless work by the Chilean Retreaders Association, ARNEC, Chilean law now stipulates that tyre importers and producers have the responsibility to collect 50% of tyres imported into the country. Of these, 25% have to be submitted for valorisation and from this figure 60% have to be retreaded. According to ARNEC, this goal is progressive and by 2026 the valorisation goal will have risen to 90%.
