Matteuzzi Expansion at Bologna HQ

Matteuzzi

Matteuzzi, the Bologna, Italy based engineering company specialised in the design and production of manufacturing equipment for the new tyre and retreading industries, has announced that it is expanding its production area and office facilities in Calderara di Reno, Bologna, in order to optimise production capacity, improve efficiency and take advantage of extra space for research and development.

New Production and Office Facilities

The new building, located close to the existing facility originally constructed by the Matteuzzi family forty years ago in 1979, is still in the process of being completed, but has already been occupied by the company’s busy production department.

According to the company, which has been innovating in the field of equipment for the retreading sector since 1956, the design and erection of the expansion area have been focused on creating a safe, environmentally friendly and technologically advanced working site and a more welcoming area for visitors.

Meanwhile, Matteuzzi’s machine product portfolio has been recently renovated by the introduction of the “smart” concept to machines for both new tyre manufacturer (Grinding, Trimming and White Sidewall Buffing machines) and tyre retreading (buffing machines).

Smart machines allow tyre data acquisition by means of laser profilers and high-performance vision cameras, enabling automatic definition of processing parameters and fully automated recipe-controlled operation cycles.

Matteuzzi has long been an innovator in the retreading equipment sector, and this year the company will be celebrating more than 30 years of computerised buffing. The company’s RAS 90-DC, first manufactured back in 1989, can be considered the mother of the different models of computerised buffers that Matteuzzi offers in its range. More than 1,500 Matteuzzi computerized buffers are in operation worldwide.

Matteuzzi’s team of specialists is looking forward to meeting Autopromotec visitors to explain the latest technological innovations.
