New RECAMIC Product in Michelin Retreading Programme

Michelin has announced that it has expanded its range of RECAMIC tread patterns for the DACH markets with the addition of a new drive axle pattern “D” for long distance haulage.

New Drive Axle Pattern "D"

The new tread pattern, available in German speaking markets since September, is claimed to offer 15% better mileage than its predecessor, the RECAMIC XDA2 Energy, based on a rolling resistance test carried out on a 315/70 R 22.5 casing with a tread width of 270mm, as well as excellent braking and good traction on slippery surfaces.

Furthermore, the 60 series version of the RECAMIC LINE D has a convex tread profile, which offers an optimised ground contact area and a reduction in heat generation in the shoulder area when compared with a standard tread profile.

“We are well positioned in the retreading sector,” says Tobias Neumüller, Head of Retreading DACH and Scandinavia at Michelin. “The Demand for sustainable mobility in long-distance transport is constantly growing, so we introduced have a corresponding product line extension for the cold retreading segment."
