Glisen to Focus on African Market

Indian retreading machinery manufacturers are increasingly focusing on Africa, as the acceptability of their machinery remains high due to the retread industry being largely controlled by the Indian diaspora. The Coimbatore based machinery producer Glisen Equipments Pvt Ltd is planning to strengthen its base further in the African market.

Glisen Look at Africa

“We commissioned a site in the Ethiopian Capital Addis Ababa about a month ago. It’s a modern facility and can retread in between 1,000 to 1,500 tyres in a month,” informed Sushil Sarcar, Glisen Equipments Pvt Ltd in a conversation with Retreading Business at last September’s Tyrexpo India show held in Chennai.

With the Glisen supplied site operational, the North East African country has now four retread facilities. It is early times for retreading in Ethiopia and awareness about the new concept is surging among local transporters.
