Two more tyre industry exhibitions from around the world have announced postponements this week due to the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Citexpo and Pneushow Both Announce Postponements
Firstly, the China International Tire Expo (CITEXPO) has been pushed back until next year, and will now take place from 16-18 August 2021 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
"We stand united with the entire tyre and wheel industry as we navigate these challenging times and ensure business continuity,” said Sam Lai, Director of Marketing & Communications of CITEXPO. “However, our first priority is to the health and well-being of our exhibitors and visitors. We’re therefore taking the sensible precautionary response by carefully taking the advice of the relevant local and global authorities."
Meanwhile, the Brazilian Pneushow, scheduled for 23-25 September in Sao Paulo has now been postponed for the second time, having already been moved once from the original dates in July.
“Our expectations were the pandemic would be under control in the second half of the year,” explained the organisers Francal Feiras in a statement. “Since then we have been carefully monitoring the situation in Brazil and all countries affected by the disease. The conclusion, unfortunately, is not favourable and indicates the events will be one of the last sectors to return to its activities. As we cannot guarantee we will (be able to) offer high quality fairs the industries expect and deserve, Francal Feiras is once again announcing the postponement of Expobor and Pneushow to a new date to be announced soon.”
