Majewski-Pre-Q-Galgo

PRE-Q GALGO recently honoured Bob Majewski at a celebratory retirement dinner in Newport, KY.

Retirement Dinner a Celebration of Majewski's 50 Years in the Industry

Majewski is a legend in the retreading industry, and his career spans well over 50 years. Having started his career in a family-owned retread plant, Majewski went on to work for several national tyre and rubber companies.

In 1994 he joined Sumerel Tire Service as part-owner and Vice President, where he was responsible for manufacturing, operations, and marketing of their Mould Cure Remanufactured tyres. he designed the AcuTread Segmented Mold Cure Process and later formed the AcuTread Alliance Group (AAG) with two other partners to assist independent retreaders in the Mould Cure process to obtain their Technical License Agreement.

In 2002 Majewski became President of Sumerel Tire Service and as the demand for retreads grew, so did the company. In the Spring of 2011, he opened Hancock County Tire in Bluffton, Ohio. Then in 2013, he opened Wilson County Tire & Retreading in Lebanon, TN.

In 2014 the AcuTread process was sold to Wonderland Tire Co., a longtime partner, and in March of 2021, Wonderland Tire Co. acquired Sumerel Tire Service Inc., Hancock County Tire, and Wilson County Tire & Retreading.

Bob Majewski's desire and commitment to being independent have always fueled his accomplishments and contributions to the retreading industry. In 2018, Bob was inducted into the TIA (Tire Industry Association) hall of fame.

"I am thankful for our long-term business relationship and will forever cherish our friendship that has evolved over the years. Bob is truly a legend in the retreading industry, and his involvement will surely be missed, but after 50 plus years, he deserves to Re-Tire and relax," said Eduardo Nava,  Vice President, PRE-Q GALGO Corporation.
