Rajendran Duraiswamy, Managing Director, Rajmahaal Tyre Equipments Pvt Ltd, passed away in the afternoon of 13th January 2023 due to cardiac arrest. He was 55 years old.
Rajendran started his career with Elgi but later floated his own company in Coimbatore in 2005. Rajendran travelled widely around the world, sold retread plants and machinery mostly in Africa, the Middle East, South-East Asia and the Far East as well as in the Indian domestic market.
In one of his earliest interactions he said, “There is huge scope to grow in the Indian market by supplying cost-effective plant and machinery to smaller entrepreneurs dotted on the Indian highways.”
An engineering graduate, Rajendran was quick in customising machinery individual requirements as well as to the paying capacity of the customer. Rajmahaal offers entire retreading plants as well as a wide range of individual equipment and spares at competitive prices.
Rajendran was known for selling cost-effective solutions that suit small entrepreneurs keen on making a new beginning in the retreading industry. Even during the covid lockdowns, Rajmahaal continued operations round-the-clock delivering plants in the domestic and international market.
Based in Coimbatore, he made friends around the world during visits to various international and domestic exhibitions. He was among the first who was instrumental in forging a number of alliances with foreign brands in order to sell their products in the evolving Indian retreading market.
Rajendran left behind his wife and two daughters.
