Myers Tire Supply – Essen
One of the longest standing retread supply specialists in the market is US-based Myers Tire Supply. A subsidiary of Myers Industries, manufacturers of rubber and plastics for the automotive and materials handling sector, Myers has been serving the North and South American market for many years and is now able to offer somewhere in excess of 10,000 different product lines.
Two lines that Myers has been
promoting to the trade this year have been Robbins curing tubes and envelopes and Sure seal curing rings, both playing a key part in providing a secure and air tight seal for curing precure retreads in the autoclave.
These are high quality, American made products that offer guaranteed service and longer use periods than many cheaper alternatives.
Ringtread Black Line
Marangoni Retreading Systems has announced the "coming" launch of the new range of Ringtread Black Line which will be a real alternative to the premium range of new tyres. Black Line is the result of massive investments by Marangoni in the most modern mixing and "moulding" technologies to ensure extremely efficient and automated production. The "line" will include the use of the recent "mixing line" designed to ensure the production of ultra high performance silica-containing
compounds or special carbon black. Last but not least some of the patterns will be equipped with buckle sipe technology that assures blocks stability and insuperable mileage performance.
The Ringtread Black Line range will be available in autumn 2012 and is proposed as an additional tool offered by Marangoni to its selected partners, to ensure further competitive advantages and profits in the retread market.
Growing Indian Retreading Sector to Feature Prominently at Tyrexpo India 2013
Tyrexpo India 2013 is set to provide a showcase for India’s emerging truck and bus tyre retreading sector, which will benefit from the huge predicted growth in radialisation of TBR tyres over the next ten years. “Historically, tyres fitted to commercial vehicles, buses and coaches in India have been bias ply products operating under extremely harsh conditions. Although retreading is an established practice, the lack of high volumes of quality radial casings restricts its effectiveness,” says Paul Farrant of Tyrexpo India organiser ECI International.
“But with so many more radial TBR tyres set to come into the market that situation will change as tyre manufacturers, retreaders and operators look to establish better practices to maximise tyre life,” he adds.
Tyrexpo India 2013 will cater for this important sector by attracting Indian and international suppliers of retreading materials, equipment and technology to demonstrate the advances that are being made.
One such exhibitor will be prominent Indian retreading materials supplier Elgitread, a regular supporter of Tyrexpo events
around the world.
Elgitread’s Mr Ramanathan comments: "Retreading of truck and bus tyres is a well-established industry in many developed countries, including India. With more radial TBR casings coming into the market in future, retreading has the opportunity to become even more a major factor in the market, offering significant cost savings compared to new tyres and wider environmental benefits due to less use of oil-based raw materials."
At present TBR radials account for just 10 per cent to 15 per cent of India’s huge commercial vehicle and bus market, but industry estimates suggest an additional 25 per cent manufacturing capacity will be added in the short term. That will lead to a greater focus on tyre maintenance policies including regrooving and retreading.
In anticipation of a larger second Tyrexpo India show, ECI has taken an option for another exhibition hall at the Chennai Trade Centre to cope with additional exhibitor demand from both Indian and international suppliers.
Tyrexpo India 2013 will take place at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, India from 9-11 July 2013.
