   Goodyear Extends Treadmax Retread Range
TreadMax, Goodyear’s premium mouldcure retread range, has been extended with the addition of six new tyres within four different application segments. Having similar carcasses, tread patterns and tread compounds as the equivalent new tyres, the new Goodyear retreads offer excellent levels of performance, helping to further reduce both vehicle operating costs and environmental impact.
For the long haul transport segment, the TreadMax range has been extended to include TreadMax LHT II trailer tyre retreads.
These low-rolling resistance tyres are now available in sizes 385/65R22.5, 385/55R22.5 and 435/50R19.5 and complement the TreadMax LHT 375/50R22.5. For long haul drive tyre applications, the existing TreadMax LHD II drive tyre range comprises 315/80R22.5, 315/80R22.5, 295/60R22.5, 315/80R22.5 and
295/60R22.5. Vehicles operating regionally and in distribution have a wider range of options with the TreadMax RHS
II all position
tyre now

size
315/70R22.5.

and the TreadMax
RHD II drive tyre,
in sizes
315/70R22.5,
315/80R22.5 and
295/80R22.5. TreadMax
RHD II 19.5” tyres are also available, comprising sizes 245/70R19.5 and 265/70R19.5. For mixed service vehicles such as tippers and concrete mixers, the TreadMax MSD II drive tyre is now available in size 13R22.5 as well as the existing 315/80R22.5.
For buses, particularly those with electrical or hybrid power where high torque is encountered, the TreadMax MCD Traction 455/45R22.5 drive axle tyre is now introduced. The Goodyear range for municipal vehicles further includes the TreadMax MCA 275/70R22.5 all position tyre and the TreadMax MCD Traction in size 275/70R22.5. TreadMax tyres feature the same Max Technology benefits as new tyres.
Long Haul products (TreadMax LHD II, LHT and LHT II) have FuelMax Technology for excellent mileage and fuel-saving low rolling resistance. Regional tyres (TreadMax RHS II and RHD II) feature KMax for good traction and braking but above all excellent mileage performance. Omnitrac Max gives the TreadMax MSD II excellent traction and damage resistance combined with durability and high mileage for vehicles operating both on and off road. UrbanMax was specifically developed for excellent mileage, good wet grip and traction on municipal vehicles and is a feature of the TreadMax MCA and MCD Traction.
All TreadMax retread products are produced in Goodyear’s in-house facilities, in France, Germany or the UK, to the same high quality standards as those applied to new
tyres. They are exclusively built using only latest generation
tyre casings and with tread patterns and tread
compounds that are similar to as those
used in the construction of
their new-tyre counterparts.
This results in performance similar to that of
the new tyres they replicate, continuing the fuel saving and
other benefits offered by new
tyres. Goodyear
underlines the importance of
optimising the value of tyres by retreading
to ensure not only extended tyre life but also
continued high levels of performance as well as
environmental benefits. This means that once tyres reach the recommended groove depth, professional regrooving may be carried out at the appropriate time. Retreading and subsequent further regrooving may be possible and careful maintenance throughout the tyres’ lives is a vital factor in this. In this way mileage is maximised, materials are conserved, scrappage and CO2 emissions reduced, resulting in lower cost per kilometre and less environmental impact.
