higher mileage performance. The network also has exclusive services such as Qualified Retirement and Guaranteed (RQG), which covers the major tyre brands, providing warranty until the third retread, which has already seen some 4 million tyres retreaded.
Recap will also offer the Program Guidance to the Fleet (PROTRANS), which provides a range of services to
improve the performance of fleets, and the BNDES Card, which allows them to pay for their retread tyres in installments within 48 monthly payments (a clever idea that helps build customer loyalty). The Recap team and its clients also now have access to training and qualification by CTV (Technical Centre Vicencio Paludo) a retreading school from Vipal located in Nova Prata.
completed respectively 5 and 10 years of partnership with Tipler. The award ceremony took place in Campinas (SP) and was led by commercial director from Tipler, Richard Suarez, the national sales manager, Carlos César Oliveira, and the commercial coordinator, Benjamin Bianchini, who handed out the awards to Francisco Möller, partner of Atual Pneus and to Alfredo Conceiçao, owner of Renovar.
In the coming months, other dealers who complete five-year period
partnerships will be invited to attend the committee meeting and receive their honours.
"Tipler congratulates Atual Pneus and Renovar for the partnership time, and is grateful for all the trust and satisfaction with the work done over the years, which has generated excellent results for all involved," says Tipler commercial director, Richard Suarez . "We are sure that many years will be added to these partnerships with Tipler and new achievements will be achieved together."
Two New Treads from Bridgestone Bandag
New products offer high versatility and performance. Bridgestone Bandag introduced two new products to the tread market: the BDV2 (targeted for urban transport) and BRR2B (directed to road transport). With them, Bridgestone Bandag seeks to provide users with top quality radial tyre products offering excellent performance and contribution to the reduction of operating costs.
The BDV2 tread has an optimised architecture, which provides excellent grip in all positions and less deformation. The relationship
between the design and the compound offers excellent mileage performance and better protection to the casing, and an optimised distribution of blocks (designed with 3 grooves) allows improved uniformity of wear. It is designed for application on urban buses and
trucks.
The other launch is the BRR2B, providing the perfect combination of design and compound to assure outstanding mileage; rounded shoulders that give a great finish with greater application, versatility and protection of the casing with a design with four longitudinal grooves that generate greater braking power and better wet grip.
"These new products offer high versatility to the segments to which they are intended - whether urban or highway. The launches came about to meet market demand for treads with greater strength, greater retreadability, higher mileage and lower cost per mile "says General Manager Sales and Marketing at Bridgestone Brazil, Marcos Aoki. The two new treads are already on the market and can be found throughout the Bandag dealer network.
Less Than 50% of Retreaders Achieved INMETRO
Since November 19 last year, when the period of adaptation to Ordinance No. 444 of the RAC (Regulatory Compliance Assessment) for commercial tyres finished, less than 50 per cent of the retreaders in Brazil have achieved certification from INMETRO - National Institute of Metrology. The ABR warned that the market should be prepared, because without the certification companies cannot perform their operations.
Up until April 25, INMETRO had counted a total of 679 retreader units, of which 172 are for passenger tyres and the other 507 for commercial tyres. The number barely represents 50 per cent of the retreading segment in Brazil, which consists of some 1300 companies. The ABR has found that the agencies
responsible (Ipem and INMETRO) for carrying out a monitoring program in companies have failed to record, in order to regularise the serctor. As it is set out in Article 7 of Ordinance No. 444: they must... "Determine that the enforcement of the provisions of this Ordinance, throughout the national territory, will be borne by the INMETRO and public bodies linked to it by agreement. "
The retreading facilities that are not registered with INMETRO, when they are audited, may have their activities disrupted. In addition, irregular companies will have to pay a fine of up to R$ 50,000 (about USD 24,000) and, according to Article 9 of Law 9.933/1999, "the fines may be doubled in case of recidivism."
Tipler: Initiative Appreciates Long Partnerships
The process in Brazil for testing retreaded tyres for motorcycles has been completed. The IPT (Institute for Technological Research) conducted all tests in accordance with the specific technical schedule for these tyres in the laboratory and track, now the final should have been made by the end of June.
The last stage of testing retreaded tyres for motorcycles occurred on 12 and 13 March at the Institute LAB Research and Testing System - ILSPE in Guarulhos (SP). Tests were made with a witness to the samples already tested to the technical requirements of quality (RTQ) contained in Ordinance 35 of 2001 INMETRO (National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality).
The first tests of the retread motorcycle process were performed by the IPT in August and September 2012 (laboratory and field tests) after judicial determination.
However, there were some variations in the samples. That led to new trials in March this year, under the item 6.1.3.4.2 RAC regarding the Ordinance 482/2010 INMETRO, establishing requirements for conformity assessment program for new tyres for motorbikes: "If the test sample does not meet the requirements of applicable RTQ, the test must be repeated and both samples must meet the requirements specified for the whole range of tyres.
"All the tests were run. The tyres passed the main test, the speed under load. The IPT has all the results, which will be elaborated in a final report to the 14 th Federal District, which is processing the process," explained Technical Advisor ABR, Carlos Thomaz.
The Tipler Dealer Network, now consisting of 80 companies in Brazil and Mercosur, has a new project to strengthen and enhance the trust built up through working together over the years. Tipler has created an unprecedented programme of honours for long partnership
divided into five-year periods, ranging from 5-35 years.
The first honourees, who received certificates and commemorative medals, were Atual Pneus, which has operations in São Leopoldo, Ijuí and Uruguaiana and the retreaders Renovar from Jandira, who
