Brityrex 2012 proved to be very successful for the retread sector. The 2014 event is planned to be even bigger, better and more successful
Brityrex International 2014, the UK’s premier tyre trade and aftermarket equipment show, has announced a return to Manchester’s EventCity for the next staging of the exhibition in October 2014. The dates for your diary will be the 7-9th October 2014. Confirming the announcement Paul Farrant, of ECI International, says: “As it has done for many years, Brityrex will again provide a focus for all that is new and best in the UK tyre and equipment sector. With an improved long-term economic outlook and rising consumer confidence, we are confident that the trade will capitalise on the tremendous marketing opportunities provided by the exhibition.”
Following the success of the first show held at EventCity in 2012, Farrant also commented on the constructive feedback received about the venue: “We received a lot of very positive comments from exhibitors and visitors about the facilities at the
venue, the easy transport access and free parking, which made returning to EventCity next year a logical and popular decision.”
EventCity is the second-largest exhibition venue outside London with 28,000 sq.m of versatile space, extensive free parking and a complimentary Wi-Fi service. With immediate access to the main motorway networks and just minutes from both Manchester city centre and Manchester Airport, the venue is superbly appointed and located. While maintaining an emphasis on the tyre industry, Brityrex will also continue to expand its coverage of associated and complimentary trade sectors, including workshop equipment, IT, tools, parts and consumables.
Brityrex International will bring together tyre, equipment and services exhibitors and buyers from across the UK and dozens of international locations.
Michelin has renewed its partnership with Johor Bahru, Malaysia-based retreader Tayatek Sdn Bhd, by appointing the
company as a Recamic licensee. Tayatek will now produce high quality Recamic retreads following the accreditation and certification of the company’s facilities, equipment and processes.
“We are proud to renew our partnership with Tayatek and offer our most advanced Recamic retread tyres,” said Beltran Yturriage, Managing Director of Michelin Malaysia. “With over 80 years of retreading experience, we are confident in our ability to meet our customers’ expectations with the Recamic technology.”
Recamic retreads are now available for users in Malaysia at any of Michelin’s truck tyre approved dealers nationwide.

Indonesian Tyre Market Set to Boom
According to the recently published report by TechSci Research ‘Indonesia Tyre Market Forecast and Opportunities 2018', the tyre industry in Indonesia is expected to grow at a rate of around 15 per cent during the next five years due to a continuous increase in automobile sales along with the demand for tyres in the replacement market. The report analyses key tyre companies in the Indonesian tyre market, which are Bridgestone, Gajah Tunggal and Sumi Rubber. However, with favourable factors like the continuous increase in the sales of automobiles, availability of rubber and infrastructure development, new companies like Pirelli, Hankook and Michelin are also planning to establish their manufacturing plants in the country to increase their presence in the
Indonesian tyre market.
The report also reveals the growing importance of retreading tyres. The tyre retreading business in the country is also being accepted on a large scale and domestic players have a considerable share in the retreading market, giving stiff competition to foreign companies. “The increasing investments in the sector along with growing demand for automobiles in Indonesia should contribute significantly to the demand for tyres during the next five years,” said Mr Karan Chechi, Research Director with TechSci Research, a research based global management consulting firm.
