       Tyrexpo Series May Travel to Other Indian Cities

Their tyre repair equipment was also sold to a customer by the second day. The fourth edition of bi-annual Tyrexpo is going to be held in 2017 with a widening portfolio. “We are
expanding the show space and make it a one-stop business platform.
The organisers are also planning to take the show to other cities in India. The show has been organised in Chennai from its inaugural event. “We are looking at other cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata as possible future locations for the show,” she said.
Meanwhile, SingEx is also toying with the idea of organising tyre conferences in the major cities as a build-up to the tyre show. “We are planning to organise conferences- cum-table-top exhibitions to promote and market Tyrexpo India to attract more exhibitors and trade visitors to the show as seminars cum business conferences are successfully bringing people to one place,” Hair said.

   The three-day Tyrexpo India 2015 organised from 7th to 9th July 2015 at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, attracted close to 2,600 tyre industry players from 30 countries, a growth of 54 per cent over the previous edition.
The show was thronged by Chinese tyre companies eager to sell their tyres into the Indian market due to stalled supplies to the US market as a result of anti-dumping duty imposed on the imports of Chinese PCRs by the US commerce department in early 2015. Almost 80 per cent of the exhibitors were from China. The Indian tyre industry is projected to be 191 million units by 2016 and the

Blackstone Rubber Industries Pvt Ltd diversified its operations into precured retreading during the course of 2014. The company, which has a plant in Jodhpur, the second largest city in the Western Indian state of Rajasthan, has been in the business of retreading since 1985 and retreads around 500 tyres by the conventional process each month. Blackstone also manufactures rubber strips to support its hot process.
