The driver of this Vaculug delivery wagon came in for an unexpected shock when he ended up straddling a sink hole on an Essex road in May.
The hole exposed a pair of gas

Dunlop Aircraft Tyres’ CRM Takes Off with Infor
Infor, the industry cloud company, has announced that Dunlop Aircraft Tyres, the world’s only specialist aircraft tyre manufacturer and retreader, has selected Infor Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Replacing a legacy system, Infor CRM is expected to drive greater visibility, consistency and accuracy in the company’s sales and CRM programmes, as well as enhanced reporting capabilities to sustain rapid growth. Integrated with Infor SyteLine, Dunlop’s existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application, the solution will initially be deployed for 33 users globally.
With sustained and rapid international growth, which recently saw the launch of its first retreading facility in the Americas, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres needed to replace its legacy systems in order to establish a robust, scalable sales platform and drive best practice.
Dunlop selected Infor CRM following a review of Infor, Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce. Infor CRM was selected on the basis of an
established working relationship and complete confidence in Infor solutions, as well as the specific capabilities of Infor CRM. Integrated fully with Infor SyteLine, Infor CRM will be used to support market segmentation and forge greater alignment with the customer service team, providing historical data and production data from which to maximise customer service and boost customer satisfaction.
“As an OEM to the aircraft industry, communications with customers and prospects involve a high degree of personalisation,” comments Stuart Hawker, Marketing Manager, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres. “Through our deployment of Infor CRM we have complete confidence that we’ll be leading the way in best practice across our sales and CRM activities, utilising an accurate and consistent set of data in a timely and user friendly manner to make better decisions and inform future strategy.”
Morocco’s Imperial Pneus Partners with Sumitomo
Morocco’s Imperial Pneus, a distributor of new tyres and a retread plant operator, has signed an agreement with Sumitomo Rubber to distribute the Dunlop brand in the country.
Imperial Pneus has a turnover of 200M dhirams, employs over 100 staff and has a distribution network covering 27 cities.
"This partnership, the result of negotiations over almost a year, is a new chapter in the history of our company," said Yasser El Bermaki, deputy general manager of Imperial TirePneus. For the Japanese business, this return to Morocco is justified by the potential offered by this development.
The Moroccan market is worth around 2.5 million tyres (2 million
car and light truck and 500,000 commercial vehicle). In 2014, more than 122,081 vehicles were sold in Morocco.
That said, this partnership will enable Imperial Pneus to diversify and expand its market position, "To face this market reality and develop our partnership with Sumitomo Rubber, we have put in place a programme that will operate on a short, medium and long term basis. The next three years will determine the future of our relationship with our Japanese partner," said El Barmaki.
Founded in 1998, Imperial Pneus operates the only truck tyre retreading plant in Morocco, which it inaugurated in 2014, having made an investment of over 20MDH.
   Rechapage Villemaire Holds Open Event
Canadian retreader Villemaire holds regular meetings with both customers and suppliers to ensure that each is well versed in the needs and possibilities of the market. These events can include training in everything from casing inspection to marketing.
At the end of May 2015 Villemaire invited the owners and operators of heavy goods vehicles to visit the plant to take part in a training session and learn more about
retreading.
The event was divided into two parts. The first was a workshop and presentation on the products from Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton and Bandag retreads and tyre maintenance. This was followed by a company visit that offered, Bandag retreading demonstrations and a meeting with the staff completed the second part of the event.
