The Argentinean tyre retreading company Unigoma, located in the city of Morón, province of Buenos Aires, was founded in 1932 by Alberto Rappazzo and continues today under the leadership of Esteban Rappazzo. The company recently obtained the B Corporation seal in December 2020, becoming the          
Unigoma works under the Vipal network with an average pro- duction of 2,000 retreaded tyres per month. In addition, they are Prometeon distributors for Pirelli Heavy Truck, Agro and Road tyres and a distributor of Vipal repair patches. Recently, under the leadership of their commercial director, Santiago Es- teban Rappazzo, son of Esteban Rappazzo, the company deve- loped Sipro, a production programme designed for tyre retrea- ding plants.
Sipro is a production system specialised in tyre retreading and whose objective is to digitalise production, speed up the remo- val of tyres from customers, providing agile and accurate infor- mation for decision making, such as the weight of tread used, time spent in skiving, and the number of patches used per tyre.
It should be also noted that Mario Parra, operations manager at Unigoma, is the executor and developer of this system along with the entire production team including Óscar Poisson and Marcelo Monzón, who are available to anyone who uses the Si- pro system and whose task is to improve and enhance the sys- tem among the entire retread community.
THE BIRTH OF SIPRO
Santiago Rappazzo points out that to digitalise production ma- nagement, the company started looking for a supplier of a sys- tem that could be adapted to the retread tyre process. After raising several enquiries with different companies, the company found several drawbacks:
