TRIB Launches Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) is proud to announce the launch of the Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund, a new initiative created to honour the legacy of retreading industry icon Marvin Bozarth. This scholarship fund aims to support students pursuing technical education in the automotive and transportation sectors, particularly those interested in tyre repair and retreading.

Passionate Advocacy for Retreading

In its inaugural year, the Fund will award two $500 scholarships to students currently enrolled in or planning to attend trade or technical schools. TRIB aims to grow the fund to become self-sustaining and offer up to four scholarships annually.

Marvin Bozarth was a tireless advocate for the retreading industry and a passionate mentor to many,” said David Stevens, Managing Director of TRIB. “This scholarship is a tribute to his dedication and a way to invest in the next generation of technicians and retread professionals. We hope it helps ease the financial burden of education while drawing more attention to the rewarding careers available in our industry.”

The retread and tyre repair industries play vital roles in the economy and the environment. Retreading helps private and public sector fleets save millions of dollars annually while promoting sustainability by reducing carbon emissions and conserving natural resources. However, like many trades, the industry faces a talent shortage due to rising education costs and limited student awareness about career opportunities.

The Marvin Bozarth Memorial Scholarship Fund seeks to address both challenges, providing financial aid to aspiring automotive professionals and helping TRIB members recruit skilled workers for their businesses.

Donations are now being accepted, and mailing checks can be made to:
