The Tire Industry Association (TIA) today announced the launch of its new consumer education website, Tire Safety Starts Here, designed to help drivers better understand tyre safety and the importance of proper tyre maintenance.
“Tire Safety Starts Here”
While TIA has long been recognised for its commitment to technician training and education, tyre safety extends beyond the service bay. The new website brings practical tyre safety information directly to consumers, helping drivers find answers to common questions and make informed decisions about tyre maintenance.
The website covers key tyre maintenance topics, including proper tyre inflation, tyre rotation, tyre repairs, and tread depth. It also features consumer safety videos, including TIA’s new video, “Tire Safety Starts with Tread Depth,” which explains why sufficient tread depth is essential to tyre performance and safety. Additional resources from the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) and participating tyre manufacturers provide consumers with further opportunities to learn about tyre care.
“Tire safety affects everyone on the road, and education is one of the most important tools we have to help drivers make informed decisions about their tyres,” said Dick Gust, CEO of the Tire Industry Association. “With Tire Safety Starts Here, we’re making trusted tyre safety information easier for consumers to digest. We’re proud to extend TIA’s commitment to tyre safety beyond the service bay and into the communities our members serve.”
The new website is also designed to support TIA members and tyre service professionals. Dealers can share the resource with customers to help answer common tyre maintenance questions, reinforce recommendations made during service visits, and encourage safer driving habits through ongoing tyre care education.
TIA created a flyer with a QR code that dealers can print and display, making it easy for consumers to access the website. By making trusted tyre safety information more accessible, TIA aims to strengthen consumer awareness and support the professionals who help keep vehicles safe on the road.
Consumers, TIA members, and industry partners are encouraged to explore the new website and share it with their customers, colleagues, friends, and family.
