Bridgestone and LAC Bandag Plant

Bridgestone and LAC have announced the opening of a new Bandag retreading facility in Deán Funes, Córdoba in Argentina.

Bandag’s Argentinian Network Increases to 16 Plants

The new plant, which is trading under the name of APM, will initially produce 1,000 tyres per month per production shift increasing to 2,000 units per month in Year 2. The new plant, which operates from a 2,400 m2 facility, increases Bandag’s network in Argentina to 16 plants.

The event was attended by Eduardo Acastello, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mining of Córdoba, Raúl Figueroa, Municipal Mayor of Deán Funes, Damian Seltzer, Country Manager of Bridgestone Argentina, Luis Carrizo, General Manager of LAC, Martin Seybold, Executive Sales Manager of Bridgestone Argentina, and Rodrigo Escudero, Public Affairs and Press Manager of Bridgestone Argentina.

“We are very proud to announce the opening of a new retread plant for our Bandag brand. Our main objective is to bet on the growth of the country and this inauguration is a great step along the path that we are defining”, commented Damián Seltzer. “We want to continue providing the best mobility solutions for carriers, one of the most important sectors in Argentina, adapting to their various needs.”

Meanwhile, Luis Carrizo, added: “We are proud and greatly satisfied with this announcement. From the first moment we committed ourselves to our community and to everything that helps its development and growth. For this reason, we are establishing the basis for changing the history of northern Córdoba, and we will continue to do so with sustainable investments, contributing to growth and innovation, always based on our values. We deeply thank Bridgestone for the trust and support they gave us in our experience as carriers, as well as the institutions of Deán Funes, the Government of Córdoba and the LAC staff who contributed to the formation of APM”.

In 2021 Bridgestone Argentina announced an investment of 5 million dollars that will be implemented in the coming years as part of a relaunch of its Bandag brand in order to continue satisfying the needs of the market and to expand its product line-up.
