Akar Makina – Great Value for OTR Tyre Retreading
OTR retreading offers great value to retreaders as well as to users of OTR tyres who are continuously looking for ways to minimise tyre costs.
Akar Makina, founded in 1990 and based in Eskisehir, Turkey, offers a complete line of tyre retreading machinery and equipment to retreaders worldwide. The machinery range includes both truck tyre and OTR retreading segments of precured and orbitread lines with a comprehensive portfolio of machinery and equipment.
Akar has recently launched OTR tyre retreading plant packages in both precured and orbitread system retreading covering all OTR tyre sizes up to 63”. The packages are as follows: SmartPack (Precured System for tyres between 1200R24”- 18.4R34”), MidPack (Precured System for tyres between 1600R24”- 50/65R51”), OrbiPack (Orbitread System for tyres between 1600R24”- 50/65R51”), UltraOrbiPack (Orbitread System for tyres between 29.50R25”-59/80R63”). Each package includes CNC controlled buffers, autoclaves and other required equipment to complete the package. Among the machinery offered, the most sophisticated is the REX series of CNC Buffers for orbitread OTR tyre tetreading with multiple functions of peeling, buffing, extruder building and regrooving at one single work station. Akar offers two types of REX series CNC Buffers, the AKR510REX and AKR630REX covering all OTR tyre sizes in two groups. The REX CNC Buffer offers great value to retreaders with multitask tyre processing. The machine provides great efficiency in orbitread retreading. The typical processing time for a 29.5R25” size tyre (ie: peeling, buffing, extruder building and regrooving) is just over 60 minutes while the machine can process a 27.00R49” tyre in just under 120 minutes. During the peeling process, the machine is able to remove old tread up to 30mm thickness with its robust structure.

retreading plant packages for truck tyre retreading, Akar Makina has increased the production of its CNC controlled buffers to meet the high demands of its customers. Akar offers two types of CNC Buffers (AKR240C and AKR240HCX) with bead plate and expandable hub tyre holding systems. Both machines use sophisticated standard hardware and software systems providing user friendly operation of the machines for its customers. The third type of buffer offered by Akar Makina is the AKR240T Automatic controlled buffing machine with template control system. This machine is also in high demand by Akar’s customers with its robust
structure and centrally driven tyre rotation system.
