deliver performances which continue to develop and improve. BTC’s offer provided a genuine approach and innovative solutions for the demands of our customer led operation. We have been operating with Bandvulc for the first quarter and have seen an energy and a willingness to develop ideas to help reduce costs and increase productivity for our fleet.”
For BTC, Philip West, Commercial Director adds; “Viridor being a local
South West company has always been an important objective for us. We are of course delighted to have been against competitive opposition, the successful bidder. Being family owned and driven by our history of success, if we say we are going to do something we just do it – that I think is the difference and gives Bandvulc its competitive edge”.
Each year, Viridor transforms over two million tonnes of materials into high
quality recyclate and yet more into over 760 gigawatt hours of renewable energy. With both companies being primarily focused on recycling the agreement brings further benefits to the environment by the Viridor fleet using Bandvulc tyres. Each tyre recycled by Bandvulc saves the environment 68 litres of oil, 44 kg of rubber compound and 182.24 kg of CO2.
“From the commencement of our new
agreement with Bandvulc we have already saved over 122,000 kg of CO2 by fitting retread tyres instead of new and over 350 of our casings (used tyres removed from the fleet) have been recycled into “new” retread tyres which also supports our environmental objectives and promotes us further as a recycler.” adds Richard.
ABM Automation Use Rockwell on New Builder
ABM Automation is an Italian company that specialises in the design and assembly of automation systems for industry. For nearly a decade, these activities supported the development of automation systems for machines for the reconstruction of large tyres: and in this context the company developed a collaboration with Rockwell Automation.
To better respond to market demand, ABM Automation in fact initiated the design and construction of its monobeam 80P. This is a new line for extrusion and application of rubber for tyres for cars and trucks the controls for which are built around Rockwell Automation components.
"We had set ourselves the goal of achieving a level of performance comparable to that of the larger and more expensive machines, but with a more compact approach," said Alessandro Bollentini, owner of ABM Automation. "When we started the design process we realised that the success of the machine would be closely linked to the adoption of innovative solutions and when we discovered that the offer from Rockwell Automation exactly matched our requirements of high- performance, compact size and low cost , the choice was natural." "When ABM Automation shared with us the design of this model we
immediately thought of proposing our CompactLogix control system as well as the Kinetix 6000 multi-axis servo for their relationship footprint / performance, and to complement the architecture, electromechanical component, the
'operator interface
and the inverter,
are all sourced
from Rockwell
Automation. Our
goal is to respond
to the needs of the
customer and our
proposal has been
rewarded by the
partnership with
ABM Automation to create an innovative machine that best meets the demanding current market needs," said Renzo Lombardi , District Manager, Rockwell Automation.
