Black Magic Staples go Low Temperature
ECOTIREracks meet the
highest requirements in
terms of safety and quality:
The racks have passed
through the internal Test
and Technology Centre and
have also achieved TÜV
certification. In addition,
they meet all European fire
protection requirements.
Gebhardt manufactures its
racks in Germany. This not
only means high quality, but
also short delivery times and high availability for our customers. In addition, this traditional company, which employs 80 staff in its Tyres and Wheels business unit alone, also supports its customers in many countries through a network of direct
Utility Composites Inc. has announced a new low temperature composite retread staple called the Black Magic SH/05-37TR. This 3/8 inch long, 19 gauge staple will deform at curing chamber temperatures of 210 degrees Fahrenheit or 99 degrees Celsius. The combination of curing chamber heat and envelope pressure flattens the exposed stable crown against the surface of the tread. After curing, there is no need to remove the exposed portions of the fastener from the tread
at the final inspection stage because the appearance is pleasing and the staple cannot cause any tyre problems, the staple crown will wear off rapidly with normal tyre wear.
This latest innovation compliments the standard Black Magic staple range that deforms during curing at temperatures above 220 degree Fahrenheit. These patented fasteners are made to be mechanically driven with an OMER brand 81P series for 19Ga or 82P for the 16Ga industrial air stapler specifically designed to
factory specifications to ensure a problem-free fastening experience. Black Magic staples have been sold world-wide for over 15 years and have been part of the cost reducing solution for many retreaders in that time. They lower the labour and technical issues associated with removing steel staples, reduce envelope punctures and wear, removing steel staples from the whole manufacturing process.
contact partners.
The ECOTIRErack series is constructed on the basis of a modular design. This unique modular system allows Gebhardt to continue to offer tailor-made solutions at standard prices.
The Big Gripper
For more than 20 years German company Bänex has been offering tyre services and repairs. The professional division is an important part of the company focussing on the service and repair of earthmover, OTR and agricultural tyres. With five depots located within 50km of Magdeburg, the firm can offer immediate service to any customer from central to south eastern Germany.
“We wanted to offer our customers more than just “cheaper, cheaper, cheaper’, said Erik Bänecke. “We believe that faster and more complete service gives the customer greater value” So, when Bänex discovered the Easy Gripper at Reifen 2012, they knew just how to make that happen.
Having found a tool that is able to grip, move and load tyres much more flexibly than other products, Bänex installed the Gripper on their new
Volvo front loader, and in a container they installed a state of the art compressor, tools, tire machine et.. With this set up they have reduced their installation time by about 50 per cent – allowing the clients to make a call in the morning and be back in operation by the afternoon. Erik Bänacke tells about their first experience with
their Easy Gripper. “On our first operation with the Gripper, at a site in Halle, changing two 23.5R25 tyres, the purchase department called us afterwards as they did not understand what we had done. We
had been on site and changed the tyres without any assistance from their staff, or without borrowing a forklift. Less than two hours later we had completed the job and left the site. The simply did not understand how we had done the job.
“The fact that we do not have to be assisted by the client’s staff or machinery is a really competitive advantage, and the customer gets back to full operation much faster.” The Easy Gripper makes mounting and demounting, moving, tilting and stacking of larger tyrs much easier. It can be mounted on fork lifts, front loaders and other vehicles. With a front loader you can mount and demount large wheels on site and in any environment.
The Gripper has three functions. It can tilt the wheels up and down, they can be rotated and the wheel can be compressed. Everything can be done from the driver’s seat, the operator can even see the alignment of the bolt holes on the wheel rim with the studs on the hub with a camera installed in the centre of the rig. “The Easy Gripper has the potential to save a great deal of time,” said Michael Jensen, from the manufacturer of the Easy Gripper, Easy Tools.

ECOTIRErack - New Gebhardt Standard for Tyre Storage
Gerbhardt, the German shelving and storage specialist specialising in wheel and tyre storage systems, based in Cham, Bavaria, has expanded its ECOTIRErack system.
The range has been extended by adding to the first EC-01 rack and setting a new standard for the transport and storage of tyres at the same time. These new proprietary racks enable Gebhardt to offer their customers a multi compatible, comprehensive product range for all tyre storage types.
Gebhardt has been known for the production of logistics solutions for the tyre and wheel industry for over 20 years. In recent years, significant investment in new technologies and manpower and the rising export share, which currently stands at 50 per cent led to the further expansion of this area and to the founding of a separate business unit for Tyres and Wheels. This unit put a major emphasis on flexibility when developing the new ECOTIRErack family, taking into account the trend towards increasingly different tyres and larger sizes. The new racks have standard dimensions of 239.5 cm width and 125 cm depth and are therefore compatible with all market standards. The new
ECOTIREracks are available for nested, upright or mixed tyre storage. All load carriers are of course also compatible with one another. In the standard version, three racks can be stacked on top of each other. The enhanced version, which is new to the range, even allows for four.
Gebhardt brought many years of experience to the development of the new ECOTIREracks, which ensured the optimisation of these new load carriers. For example, the corner elements of models EC-11 and EC-31 were enlarged slightly for upright storage to increase the stability of the side wall. An additional bracket was also added to the side wall to allow for the height of the hook-in bars to be varied. This detail increases flexibility, because different tyre sizes can be stored upright as a result. All load carriers within this new product family are characterised by their robust and stable construction and easy handling - Gebhardt has been known for these characteristics for over 180 years. Thanks to an ingenious folding mechanism, the empty carriers can be compacted in a manner that transport costs can be reduced by up to 30 per cent.
