With the installation of a Regenerative Thermal Oxidiser, a system which captures Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions from the finishing lines, the Covington facility is able to burn off emissions prior to being released into the atmosphere.
In addition, as part of managing its waste per ton of product, the Covington plant is able to recycle all its cured rubber scrap.

Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) in Covington, Georgia, has made significant progress in reducing the plant's environmental footprint, which is part of a company-wide commitment and priority to
improving what it calls sustainable mobility.
In the last decade, the Covington facility, which is SmartWay certified, has lowered its footprint by 75 per cent in the critical areas of emissions,
