Coimbatore based retreading equipment maker Rajmahaal is planning to open three retreading plants in a joint venture with Delhi based Classic Rubber Co., a manufacturer and exporter of tyre repair patches and bonding gum under the ‘Galaxy’ brand name. “The plants would come-up in the

The company is one of the major retreaders in the Eastern Indian state of Jharkhand and has been in the business for the last 25 years. “Our second plant in Odisha is likely to be set-up in a district called Jajpur in Eastern coastal state of Odisha near Kalinga in the next 6-8 months,” informed Abhimanyu Menon, Manager- Operations, Maha Laxmi Tyre Service. Jajpur is a historic place of pilgrimage.
On the reason for choosing Jajpur as a location for the new plant, Menon explained, “Tata Steel is setting up a 6 million tonnes per annum capacity integrated steel plant in the K alinganagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur, and the first

The firm is also planning to modernise the Jamshedpur plant to gear up to handle the radial market, which is picking-up volume in the country. “We are doing nylon as well as radial. Currently, nylon volume is more but radials are fast gaining ground in the Indian market. Therefore, we have to modernise the plant to meet the rising radial market,” Menon stated.
The retreader plans to have a modern plant with a complete monorail system. “Currently, our volumes are low at around 400

Tyre maintenance at customer sites is a next step which involves complete tyre care such as monitoring pressures, tread conditions, sidewall conditions, bead conditions, casing
conditions etc. “We have already filed the tenders with government agencies and mining companies, and it would take almost 6-8 months before it gets into practice,” explained Vinod Menon, GM, CIO Tyres at Tyrexpo India in Chennai.
