        Glisen New Subsidiary to Make Repair Materials
Fabricators, commenced operations in 1985 with an objective to fabricate top class equipment for the retreading industry. Now, it is one of the leading manufacturers in India with large domestic and overseas clientele.
Gemeni’s overseas customer base includes clients in Italy, U.A.E, Saudi Arabia, Madagascar, Fiji, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Nepal, Mauritius, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Egypt. Recently, the company has supplied a complete line to Nigeria. Meanwhile, Gemeni is also looking at developing markets in the US, Europe and South America. “We have a good presence in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Now our focus is on the developed markets of North and South America and Europe,”
he said.
The equipment maker launched and showcased a nitrogen generator and inflator for tyre service centres, a new design inspection spreader, and a 12 segment expandable hub and rim at the show.
The company is also working on a wall mounted air inflator and nail hole detector and flex seal for tyre curing purposes. “We are planning to launch all the products in the next few months at regular intervals,” said Makesh.
The equipment maker is projecting itself as a single source manufacturer and supplier for all the requirements of the retreading industr y. The thirty year old company claims to have installed 350 retreading plants.
Coimbatore headquartered Glisen Equipments Pvt Ltd has opened a new subsidiary for making ‘Grip Rubber Products’. The new firm will manufacture repair patches for nylon, radial and OTR tyres. The production started about two months ago. “We are looking at catering to the domestic and international market with the range of grip rubber products,” said Sushil Sarcar of Glisen Equipments Pvt Ltd.
Equipment in the pipeline, which is likely to hit the market in 2016 includes machines for OTR. “We are planning to bring in equipment for repairing OTR and a combination of buffer-cum-builder for speciality tyres,” he confirmed.
Glisen has been shipping equipment to the markets of South America, West and South Africa, South-East Asia and Eastern Europe. “We are looking at further expansion of our

  Gemeni to Relocate to Bigger Premises by End 2015

“We have a vacant plot of land at the existing plant, and we are planning a separate OTR plant. We are looking for suitable equipment for the proposed plant at the Tyrexpo. The plant is likely to be ready by the end of 2015,” explained Ganshyamdas Toshiwal, Managing Director, Vijay Tyres Pvt Ltd.

The Bijapur plant is equipped with Elgi equipment, and entered into the retreading business way back in 1962, initially using the hot process. “We introduced the precure process in 1985 and ever since we have been using Treadsdirect rubber,” he said.
