KRAIBURG CONFERENCE
Kraiburg – Second International Kraiburg Summit Meeting
Two years ago Gummiwerk Kraiburg inaugurated its first Kraiburg Retreading Summit Meeting, aimed at bringing together the company’s key customers and discussing the latest trends and influences in the retreading market. This year’s event was held from 19- 21 June at the Hotel “Im Weissen Rössl in St. Wolfgang, Austria, where, against the backdrop of the beautiful scenery of the Salzkammergut area, the Austrian retread materials supplier was inform its customers about important market developments such as the Retyre Project, BIPAVER’s work on pushing for the introduction of the alpine
symbol for retreaded tyres and efforts being made on a European level to introduce anti- dumping activities to counter the effect of Chinese new tyres of the truck
retreading market, as well as to discuss the company’s newest product range developments. Nearly 100 attendees from across Europe and the Middle East attended the conference, representing Kraiburg’s key retreading customers across the region. The informative seminar session was backed up with a lively programme of social activities.
Nearly half the attendees came from Kraiburg’s core market of Germany, but there were also
featured a boat-trip and dinner on the MS Salzburg, which took guests from one end of the Wolfgangsee to the other, whilst they enjoyed good food and musical entertainment.
The next morning, however, saw participants taking part in the important business session,
with an in-depth analysis of the Retyre Project as well as BIPAVER’s attempts to introduce an Alpine symbol for retreaded truck tyres. These topics were covered during the BIPAVER meeting in Bologna and are discussed elsewhere in this magazine, so we won’t go into
retreaders from Austria, Czech Republic, Hingary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
