KRAIBURG CONFERENCE
known amongst Europe’s independent retreaders.
Also discussed in some depth were plans for a major BRV led PR campaign (initially in Germany) to counteract the decline in the truck retreading market, as well as news on BIPAVER’s attempts to push forward anti-dumping activities aimed at counteracting the threat posed to the industry by Chinese new tyres.
In addition to this, Kraiburg’s Product Manager Christoph Priewasser outlined Kraiburg’s customer support activities aimed at helping
retreaders comply with European legal requirements – this included the results of tests carried out by Kraiburg for the calculation of values for wet grip, noise and rolling resistance, as well as tests for the requirements for the making of Kraiburg tread patterns with the snowflake symbol. Priewasser then expanded his presentation with a detailed update of Kraiburg’s latest product news.
Guest speaker at the conference was Klaus Haddenbrock, the
owner and publisher of Tyres & Accessories and Neue Reifenzeitung, who spoke on “A View to the Future of Tyre Retail”.
Once the serious business formalities were over, guests
were taken to the nearby hammering. In the evening the
Leopoldholf pub and restaurant where they were able to take part in the “Kraiburg Olympics”, including traditional Austrian pastimes such as kegeln (nine- pin bowling) and nail
event was brought to a conclusion with an enjoyable cottage evening in St Wolfgang’s Dorf-Alm with local food and entertainment.
