                 Galgo Pre-Q Invests
in Pursuit of Perfection.
GIIB and MRB recently signed two In a speech by the MRB
Galgo Pre-Q, in pursuit of continuous improvement and perfection of its tyre retreading products, has acquired new state of the art laboratory equipment, which is claimed to be the best available in the market for rubber analysis.
With the new machine Galgo can research rubber performance in real conditions of use, with dynamic mechanical analysis being able to be evaluated over a range of temperatures from -150 °C to 500 °C. It is also possible to simulate the temperatures that tyres may be subjected in their different uses and applications; and their behaviour
when a force is applied cyclically, (in tension, compression or shear) with frequencies between 0.001 Hz to 100 Hz.
Since retread materials have different needs, this machine offers many options for analysis to virtually examine any application or use for these products, for example: for a truck tyre it is critical to optimise the heat build-up and retain a value as low as possible in order to achieve high durability; With this machine it is possible to determine which property is needed in rubber compounds to optimise the best performance and endurance.
Memoranda of Agreements - a Collaboration Agreement on Speciality Rubber Application in Green Retreaded Tyres for Extreme Weather and Conditions, and a Collaboration Agreement on Speciality Rubber Application in Technical Rubber Products.
The ceremony took place at MRB’s office and was attended by MRB Chairman Datuk Wira Ahmad Hamzah and Director General Datuk Dr Salmiah Ahmad, and the Chief Executive Officer, Goodway Integrated Industries Berhad, Tai Boon Wee, together with Technical Director Bob Ngaau.
Chairman, guests were informed of the research done at MRB on Ekoprena
and Pureprena. This research, he said, was timely and covered the scope of technical rubber compounds and retreading materials using specialty natural rubber, namely Ekoprena and Pureprena, the trade names of the MRB speciality modified natural rubber. These were described as green materials from renewable resources that are produced with stringent quality to ensure its superior properties for rubber products.
Italmatic Penetrates South East Asian Market with AIT20 Autoclave
Italmatic has installed numerous units of its latest PC controlled AIT20 autoclave within the South East Asian market.
The latest unit to be sold was installed recently in the Continental Tyres retreading plant in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
This new machine features state of the art control systems from Siemens and the latest Windows based or Wwin C software. The machine enables the user to monitor tyres being cured in the chamber and provides users with critical information on the condition of the cure or problems with any cure thereafter.
The software allows
flexibility for users to remotely view the progress of the cure and also to link the machine to a common network. Additional features allow users to secure the machine from changes in recipe as well avoiding the curing of the
wrong tyres.
Last but not least, with the new
pc control system, users can ensure that the cure of the tyres is of the best quality thanks to extremely tight temperature control through the use of advanced algorithms to control the heating and air flow.
GIIB Signs MOAs with Malaysian Rubber Board
The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) and Goodway Integrated Industries Sdn Bhd (GIIB) have announced that they are
collaborating in an R&D project on the application of Ekoprena and Pureprena in the dry rubber product sector. With this in mind

Bridgestone Bandag Continue to Invest in Lanklaar Plant
It is now 45 years since the Bridgestone Bandag tread rubber plant at Lanklaar in Belgium first opened. However, the company is still investing heavily in the facility to make sure that the Bandag products manufactured at the site are of the very highest quality.
Retreading Business recently had the opportunity to tour the plant and we were shown round by new plant manager Ignacio Medrano together with Ronny Vaesen, who has over thirty years experience at the factory. Bandag’s Lanklaar facility covers 41,000 sq m, 20,000 of which is
