During the show, Vipal introduced tyres retreaded by its customer Panhandle Tire & Rubber, from Amarillo TX. The treads used were the VT170 ECO, a tread with great adherence on wet surfaces, and the VL130 ECO, which has excellent resistance to wear and tear, provides less casing fatigue and is recommended for long haul application. Verified by the North American SmartWay Transport program, both treads offer fleets greater savings, lower fuel consumption and high performance. All this, combined with lower greenhouse gas emissions, has awarded it this internationally recognised verification. Vipal was the first South American company to receive this validation from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

In addition, Vipal’s representatives had the opportunity to discuss tyre retreading with end users. Over 200 people visited Vipal’s stand, among them independent drivers, small fleets owners and other interested parties. “Most visitors were from Texas. However, the stand also welcomed professionals from Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, South Carolina, Tennessee, California, Illinois, as well as from other countries such as Nigeria, New Zealand and Turkey,” stated Oliveira.

The Great American Trucking Show gathered over 50,000 participants and 500 exhibitors representing the transportation sector, as well as motor and parts manufacturers. The event is an interactive action with the truck driving community, which takes place annually and allows participants to test trucks and its products, among other activities. It is also an opportunity to exchange knowledge and take part in educational sessions by the Texas Trucking Association.
