Italmatic Acquire Intact Shearography Assets from ZEISS

Intact

Italmatic have announced the acquisition of Intact shearography assets from ZEISS, which include drawings, software, e-plans, brand name and IP rights.

Italmatic Make Further Steps in Shearography Sector

According to Dr. Massimo Ghitturi, CEO of Italmatic, this is a further essential step to consolidate Italmatic’s status as a global leader in retreading equipment and accessories, both in terms of high technology and completeness of the range. The acquisition of Intact shearography business allows Italmatic to also penetrate the new tyre industry.

The Intact shearography 1360-X is an especially important element of Italmatic’s future Shearography portfolio. It needs just 55 seconds for the inspection of a complete tyre from bead to bead, including the loading and unloading operation. It is one of the fastest single machines in the world especially developed to optimise quality control in the manufacturing of new tyres but, of course, also for large retreading plants. This machine type offers an extremely quick return on investment and helps to overcome the current acute shortage of highly skilled staff.

ZEISS and Italmatic Srl. have already started an intensive programme of training and qualification to Italmatic staff to assure the best service continuity to all existing customers. With vast experience in machine building over decades, paired with a Software and IT company, which belongs to the Italmatic Group, customers can expect a continuation in the highest standards of service and product quality, says Italmatic. With its distribution network, Italmatic will address customers globally.

Roberto Deger, CFO of ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, expressed his happiness about Italmatic taking over the Intact business and know-how.

“Italmatic expertise in machine building and capabilities in information technology provide the ideal conditions to successfully run this business and develop the machines and technology further,” he said.
